Happy New Baby - JUGS Challenge 117

The hubby took the girls to Nana's for a while this afternoon.  That gave me the chance to work on a new card.  Two of my 2012 goals are to use some of the supplies I have piled up and particpate in more challenges.  Well, this card meets both of those goals.

The Just Us Girls Challenge this week is to use felt on a card.  I've had these sweet little Basic Grey felt stickers in my embellishment drawer for a while.   A few scraps of paper, a little ribbon and I'm all done.  What do you think?  I can't wait to get this one in my Etsy shop.  There are a few more stickers in that pack.  Let's see if I can finish the whole thing.

First Birthday Scrapbook Album

Good morning all.  I hope you are all having a relaxing last day of 2011.  I am trying to get myself back in the "school" frame of mind.  Only 3 day of Christmas break left.

Today, I wanted to share some pages from an album I made this past week.  This hot air balloon started out on a "love" card I have in my Etsy shop.  It was the FIRST original design I made using my Silhouette cutter, so I'm kind of partial to it.
This week I had the opportunity to take that card design and turn it into a book.  The is a scrapbook/guest book for a little girl's first birthday party.  There are pages for pictures of Kinley with her guest and clouds next to the photos for guest to write birthday messages to her.

To make it even more special I included a page just for a photo of Mom and Kinley and a place for Mom to write a birthday letter to her.  I hope this is something Kinley will treasure as she grows up.

Products used:
Pink patterned digital paper from Katie's Wish on Etsy.
Green Bo Bunny Dot paper
Bazzill cardstock
Cricut cartridges - Plantin schoolbook, Create a Critter, Birthday Bash
Hot Air Balloon - My own design

A Year in Review

A fellow card maker told me about a year end blog hop going on over at With an "i" for Paper. I decided since I'm just starting out this would be a great way to share some of my favorite creations with you.

This past year I was really just starting out in my Etsy shop .  I have made a lot of cards along the way, and it is very hard to choose just a few favorites.    Here are the ones I've chosen to share.

January

February

This is a special one because it was a Valentine craft I made with my daugthers. It was also featured as a tutorial on the blog Structured Chaos.

March

April

May

June

July

August

Birthday invitation and matching table centerpiece.

September

October

I made the card last Halloween, but I made this coordinating bag this Halloween.

November

This was my very first online challenge entry.  It was entered over at Bitten by the Bug 2 for one of their weekly Cricut challenges.

December

I just finished this book tonight, but it is definitely my favorite for December.  I'll share some more pages with you later.
Well as we finish up 2011, I hope you get 2012 off to a great start.  Enjoy ringing in the new year.

Welcome to my Blog

Well I'm finally going to give this a try.  I'm getting a jump start on one of my 2012 goals and starting my blog.  It will definitely be a work in progress, but you have to start somewhere, right?

A little about me...
My name is Sammie.  My husband and I live in Texas with our 3 daughters (4 year old twins and a nearly 3 year old.)  I teach 5th grade Science and I love to craft.  I've been scrapbooking for 15 years and started making cards about 18 months ago.  I also love to read and sew in my limited spare time.

So what is this blog about??  Well I am a card maker and invitation designer.  My daughters also enjoy crafting too.  I'll be using this blog as an opportunity to share the craftiness and craziness that is going on at our house.

In addition to teaching I have an invitation and greeting card shop on Etsy.com called Stitches and Scraps.  I would love to share and talk about the custom orders I get from time to time.  I hope you enjoy hearing about some of the custom cards and papercrafts I design for my customers.

Well enough for now...  I hope you check in from time to time and see what we're creating.
